Are you moving soon? Get Lemonade Renters Insurance

Let’s face it, moving isn’t anyone’s favorite pastime. First, it starts with decluttering (and realizing how thing you own), then consolidate, give away and sell, after that it’s putting your whole life into a handful of boxes. In most cases, a lot of boxes. It’s stressful, time consuming and expensive.

According to the US Census Bureau, the average American moves 11.7 times in their lifetime. That’s 11.7 chances of accidentally dropping your glass table or scratching your new Samsung Frame TV when you load it into your moving truck.

The answer? Invest in Lemonade renters insurance. Good insurance coverage can make your move even more stress-free if something unfortunate happens. Because let’s be real – things TO DO arrive.

A Lemonade renters insurance policy starts at just $5 per month, but the price of your policy (also called “premium”) will be affected by the coverage amounts you choose, among other factors.

Note: If you use a professional moving company, your personal renters or homeowners insurance policy may not extend to these third-party movers. However, the moving company itself should probably offer some alternatives to help you protect your valuables.

What does Lemonade renters insurance cover?

Your policy covers your personal property against theft and damage, as well as legal claims for damage or injury you accidentally cause to others. Additionally, if your home becomes uninhabitable due to certain types of damage, we will help cover temporary housing costs.

For example, if someone steals an item from your moving truck while you’re unloading, Lemonade will cover that loss.

What is not covered?

This covers a lot, but not everything. Some things that aren’t: your roommate’s belongings, flood damage, and liability for dog bites (if your dog is considered a high-risk breed).

How to file a complaint?

Very easily, just open the Lemonade app and tap the “Claim” button. From there, they will guide you through the process.

I have already signed a contract with another company: can I change it?

Yes! Once registered with Lemonade, they will send a formal notice to your former insurer. Once they receive it, they should cancel the remainder of your policy term and refund any unpaid payments.

Can I make changes to my policy after purchasing it?

Of course! Once you’ve purchased your policy, simply open the Lemonade app or navigate to your account here. Select your policy and change your coverage amounts to suit your needs, or add additional coverage from the Add-ons section.
