NEW YORK– Zendaya is sparking engagement speculation after wearing a huge diamond on her left ring finger at the Golden Globes.
Representatives for Zendaya and her longtime partner, Tom Holland, did not respond to requests for comment from The Associated Press on Monday, a day after the Emmy Award winner, 28, attended on the TV show at the Beverly Hilton.
People magazine said the couple was engaged, citing “a family source.” Another source told the magazine that Holland shared the news with friends over New Year’s Eve. TMZ was first to report the engagement, citing “sources close to the couple.”
Zendaya, the “Euphoria” and “Challengers” star who appeared on the red carpet in a Louis Vuitton dress, has long been linked to the Netherlands since they played love interests in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” in 2017. Holland was not in attendance at Sunday’s Globes.
A Los Angeles Times reporter seemed to confirm something was going on when she held up her engagement ring and pointed at it, and Zendaya responded by pointing to her own jewelry on her left hand. The reporter then asked if the actor was engaged and “she kept showing her ring, smiling shyly and shrugging her shoulders mysteriously.”
Another clue was that Bulgari – for which the “Dune” star is an ambassador – provided Zendaya’s carpet jewelry – a necklace, a right ring and earrings – but a press release did not mention the ring on his left ring finger.
