Arcade Fire announced his first album since the leader Win Butler was accused of sexual misconduct by several women in 2022. Pink elephantMay 9 via Columbia was produced by Butler and the Régine chassagne alongside Daniel Lanois; The programming has remained as it has been since Will Butler left the group in 2022. A new song, “Year of the Snake”, and his video was released today. Another song, “Cars & telephones”, was released on the Circle of Trust application of the group last week, but will not appear on the album.
Arcade Fire’s latest album, WEReleased in May 2022. Three months later, several women presented themselves in a report published by Pitchfork accusing Win Butler of sexual misconduct. After the initial report, an additional woman presented allegations of “manipulative, toxic” behavior against Butler. The musician, married to his Chassagne group companion, admitted that he had extramarital relations and argued that the experiences were consensual.
Following the report, Arcade Fire continued his visit in support of WE. However, they lost Feist as a surgery in Europe. Arcade Fire has since played many festivals and concerts, including those to mark the anniversary of Funeral. The group also appeared on SNL50: the return concertPlaying with David Byrne, St. Vincent, and the jazz group in the conservation room.
