Apple is rumored to unveil “several” new Macs at WWDC

Predictions for Apple’s WWDC keynote continue to pour in, with Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman predicting that the company will announce “several new” Mac models during the event. In a tweet On Wednesday, Gurman reiterated that in addition to launching a new set of computers, the tech giant will also unveil a mixed reality headset and a new version of its operating system. This is the latest among the rumors about Apple’s developer conference which will start on June 5th.
I expect three big areas of focus next week: 1) several new Macs, 2) the mixed reality headset, 3) new operating systems. With all the new hardware and software, I expect the keynote to be one of Apple’s longest and easily exceed two hours.

Foodie previously reported that on June 5, Apple will begin accepting trade-ins for the Mac Studio, 13-inch MacBook Air (with M2), and 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2), which may help support its latest prediction.
While the company is expected to introduce a 15-inch MacBook Air, it’s still unclear what other models might join Apple’s lineup, although some rumors have hinted at a new Mac Pro. Both the Mac Pro and Mac Studio still run M1 chips, suggesting that both could finally benefit from an upgrade. The new models are expected to be powered by the M2 chip, which offers twice the speed of its predecessor, longer battery life, better connectivity and 8K capabilities.
Earlier this month, Gurman noted in its Power On newsletter that the arrival of an M3 chip could be imminent in new Apple computers, with the possibility of an improved tech landing in late 2023 or early 2024.
