Throughout the teardown, they noted several technical details, including the noticeably thicker MagSafe magnets and the intricate layering under the curved camera bump. Using a combination of heat, isopropyl alcohol, and patience, they manage to separate the metal plates and remove the paint to reveal the phone’s sleek, minimalist internals. After a few failed experiments, like trying to use gallium to dissolve metal plates that turned out not to be aluminum, they managed to restore the components and reassemble the phone.
The result is a transparent, fully functional iPhone Air showcasing its beautifully arranged internals, a feat that even Suhaib calls one of his best mods to date.
