According to the Power on Newsletter by Bloomberg Mark GurmanApple still has some iOS 26 more features in the pipeline. These features were not announced at WWDC, although they were strongly supposed, and they should always arrive in the coming months.
The two unexpected features are Live translation via AirPodsas well as the synchronization of captive Wi-Fi connections on the entire Apple ecosystem. The first feature would have allowed you to have live conversations with someone else in a different language and to hear it translated in real time via Airpods. This would have been similar to other live translation features announced for iOS 26.
The latter would have released a Wi-Fi a Much easier experienceAs would have eliminated the need to connect to public Wi-Fi portals, such as those of cafes and hotels, throughout your apple ecosystem. Once you have connected in one, it would all synchronize.
Gurman reported these two features long before WWDC, but they did not arrive on the day of the layout. He reports that this is due to the fact that Apple no longer wants to announce features of the months before being ready to ship:
At WWDC, Apple took care not to announce anything who was not close to the shipment (either in the first version of iOS 26, or an update shortly after). The company did not want to risk repeating the WWDC 2024, where it announced several features – including a line technology – which has finally been delayed by month or has not yet been arrived.
According to Gurman, these features are expected to arrive this year. They should arrive during the iOS 26.1 release of October or December iOS 26.2, if they are not added during the beta cycle.
