Vizianagaram district administration has made all arrangements for counting of votes for seven Assembly constituencies and one Parliament seat at JNTU-GV University and Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology (LIET ).
As many as 77 candidates have contested in seven Assembly segments and 15 people are in the fray for MP seats. In the previous elections, YSRCP won all the seats such as Vizianagaram, Nellimarla, Gajapathinagaram Bobbili, Rajam, Cheepurupalli and S.Kota.
He also won the Vizianagaram MP seat. The main contest is between YSRCP sitting MP Bellana Chandrasekhar and TDP MP candidate Kalisetti Appala Naidu. The Cheepurupalli Assembly segment has also attracted attention in the state as Education Minister and YSRCP candidate Botcha Satyanarayana and former Minister and TDP candidate Kala Venkata Rao are in the electoral battle.
The YSRCP and TDP are hoping to win maximum seats while claiming that a turnout of 81.05%, the highest turnout, would go in their favor in the election. This time, no less than 19,738 postal ballots were received. Their counting will take place first and then the votes collected in EVMS will be counted.
