Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez applauded pro-Palestinian protesters Monday as she opened for President Joe Biden at an Earth Day event in Virginia.

When it was Ocasio-Cortez’s turn to speak, she emphasized that Biden’s federal investment in climate change was the result of “organizing power” — bringing together “young people, climate advocates, union organizers and workers from all walks of life.”

“It is especially important that we remember the power of young people shaping this country today, as we once again witness the leadership of these peaceful student-led protests on campuses like Columbia, Yale, Berkeley and many more,” Ocasio said. -Cortez said.

Moments later, Biden took the stage and congratulated AOC, telling the crowd, “You know, I learned a long time ago: Listen to this lady, listen to this lady.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (L) congratulated pro-Palestinian protesters Monday at an Earth Day event in Virginia as she opened for President Joe Biden (R). A number of anti-Semitic incidents were reported during protests at Columbia University this weekend.

“You know, I learned a long time ago: Listen to this lady, listen to this lady,” President Joe Biden (L) told the Earth Day crowd about AOC (R) . He also said: “We’re going to talk more about another part of the world too quickly” – an allusion to what they would talk about the Middle East.

“We’re going to talk too quickly about another part of the world,” he said – an allusion to the Middle East after the official program ended.

Biden and the New York Democrat could then be seen shaking hands and holding hands as they walked off stage.

Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders and Markey took Marine One back to the White House with Biden and headed to the Oval Office.

The president and the so-called squad, which includes AOC, are at odds on the subject of Israel following the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, was arrested and then suspended for participating in anti-Israel protests on the Columbia campus, which have lasted for several days.

Last week, more than 100 students were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday for participating in sit-ins, but by Friday the students had returned to their “Gaza solidarity camp.”

While Ocasio-Cortez praised the student protesters, over the weekend, demonstrators on and off Columbia’s campus veered into anti-Semitic territory.

Rebel students from Columbia returned to the open-air “Gaza Solidarity Camp” on Friday, despite more than 100 arrests Wednesday and Thursday during sit-ins on campus.

White House spokesman Andrew Bates condemned the actions of these protesters.

“While every American has the right to peaceful protest, calls for violence and physical intimidation aimed at Jewish students and the Jewish community are blatantly anti-Semitic, unacceptable and dangerous,” Bates said in a statement.

Early Monday, Columbia President Nemat “Minouche” Shafik announced that classes would be held virtually, as a campus rabbi encouraged Jewish students to return home for their safety.

“I condemn the anti-Semitic demonstrations. That’s why I have a program in place to solve this problem,” Biden told reporters as he left Virginia.

“I also condemn those who do not understand what is happening with the Palestinians,” the president also proposed.
