Anthropic launched a new way of connecting applications and tools to its Claude AI Chatbot on Thursday, as well as a widely widening “deep research” capacity that allows Claude to search for web, corporate accounts, etc.
The new application connection feature, called integrations, and widened in -depth research, nicknamed Advanced Research, are available in beta version for subscribers to Claude Max, Team and Enterprise Plans d’Anthropic, and soon pro. In related news, Anthropic has also increased the rate limits of its coding tool powered by AI, Claude Code, for Max customers.
Integrations and advanced research are both part of Anthropic’s efforts to follow the pace of competing chatbots like Google’s Gemini and the Openai chatpt. Anthropic hopes to reach $ 34.5 billion in revenues in 2027, and although he certainly made breakthroughs, he has a long way to go. Anthropic’s annualized turnover was around 1.4 billion dollars in early March, according to a report.
Integrations are based on the company’s MCP protocol, which allows AI models to draw data from sources such as commercial tools to perform tasks, as well as content benchmarks and application development environments. Integrations draw MCP to allow developers to create and accommodate application servers that improve Claude’s capacities and allow users to discover and connect these servers to Claude.
“When you connect your tools to Claude, he wins an in -depth context on your work – Understanding project stories, task statutes and organizational knowledge – and can take measures on all surfaces,” wrote Anthropic in a blog article.
To start, there are a number of integrations of anthropogenic partners, notably Atlassian, Zapier, Cloudflare, Intercom, Square and Paypal. Everyone develops what Claude can do. For example, Atlassian integration allows Claude to summarize and create pages in the Atlassian Confluence work software, while Zapier integration allows Claude to connect to the workflows of the automation of the old applications.
As for the other new feature of Claude which launches today, advanced research, it allows Claude to plot “hundreds” of internal and external sources to offer what Anthropic describes as “more complete” reports on a subject in five to 45 minutes. Advanced search can take advantage of Claude’s newly widened connectors, known as Anthropic, to search for integrations and – when using the Claude Desktop application on MacOS or Windows – Local readers connected to MCP.

“With its new ability to do more complex research, available when you switch to the search button, Claude decomposes your request into smaller parts, each investigating before compiling a full report,” continued Anthropic in the blog post. “When Claude incorporates information from sources, he provides clear quotes which are directly linked to the original material.”
There have been a series of deep research tools launched recently through chatbots such as Gemini, Microsoft’s co -pilot and XAI Grok. Driving them are “reasoning” models, which have the capacity to think about problems and verify the facts – the skills probably important to conduct in -depth research on a subject.
The anthropic research tool was previously among the faster tools in the deep research category, taking about a minute to compile reports. But the results tended to be less deep, in part because research did not use a model of reasoning.
