There was a development in the quarter of the colts competition.
Head coach Shane Steichen told journalists on Thursday that Anthony Richardson will not participate in the OTA this week or in the mini-camp next week with a right shoulder injury.
Via James Boyd from Theathletic.com, Steichen noted that Richardson’s injury concerned the same AC articulation he had previously injured. Although surgery is not planned for the moment, Steichen noted that the plan is for Richardson to return “at one point” in the training camp. But there is no calendar.
With Richardson away, Daniel Jones will be able to take more pictures for the rest of the off -season program and potentially in the training camp. This could give him a step ahead of the supplant Richardson as QB1 to start the 2025 season.
Choice No. 4 of the 2023 draft, Richardson could not start four games due to an injury in 2023. He started 11 last season between injury and bench. But its poor performance – completing only 48% of its passes for 1,814 yards with eight affected and 12 interceptions – led the colts to bring Jones for an open competition.
