Jericho won the tap with his famous Walls of Jericho submission to earn him and his partner, HOOK, a big victory over Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty.

As the two victors celebrated in the ring, Ogogo ambushed them from behind and delivered an almighty beating to mark his first appearance on AEW television since 2022.

Taylor and Moriarty re-entered the ring and held Jericho in place as the Englishman delivered a knockout blow before draping a flag over his lifeless body.

Ogogo wrote alongside footage of his AEW return on social media: “Heavyweight power, middleweight speed. I’m going to hit you so hard you’re going to bleed inside! »

LEARN MORE ABOUT ANTHONY OGOGO

The 35-year-old hoped to become professional boxing’s next big star after winning a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics.

However, his 12-1 career was marred by injuries and he ultimately left boxing in 2019 after spending three years trying to recover from an eye problem.

Despite being 78% blind in his left eye, Ogogo has become a successful actor, podcaster, and professional wrestler since he stopped fighting.

“I still have goals I want to achieve in the wrestling world,” he told talkSPORT.com in February.

“I’m with AEW in America and trying to get back with them.

“I’ve been out of favor for a while. I’m currently in India, wrestling around the world and reminding them of what they have on their list.

Anthony Ogogo explains how he helped boxing legend Eric Esch, aka Butterbean, prepare for a comeback fight after a 15-stone body transformation

“AEW returns to Wembley Stadium in August. I really want to be on the map. I can’t wait to wrestle again for AEW in London.

A few months later, “The Guv’nor” appears to be back in favor with AEW and about to begin a storyline that could culminate in a massive fight at the England National Stadium this summer.

Ogogo continues to prove that there is life after boxing as his wrestling career continues to go from strength to strength.
