Davison captioned the video: “Chin on the boy. » But some fans insist the shot never landed.

One tweeted: “He…wasn’t hit.”

Another wrote: “Lol if this landed Ben would be on another planet.”

A third added: “I didn’t touch him. »

Meanwhile, others believe Joshua connected, but backed out of the shot.

“Joshua made the most of that punch, as he should too…lol,” one supporter insisted.

“Lucky wasn’t a real punch lol,” added another.

Joshua and Davison have only been working together for six months.

AJ teamed up with Davison, who made his name working with Tyson Fury, before his fifth-round stoppage victory over Otto Wallin in December.

This proved to be a much improved performance from his previous two outings against Jermaine Franklin and Robert Helenius under former head coach Derrick James.

Joshua has been criticized for his timid approach to these fights, but since teaming up with Davison, he has seemingly rediscovered the fire in his belly.

After Joshua’s victory over Wallin, the two joined forces again to demolish Francis Ngannou in the second round.

The Cameroonian cage fighter had caused Fury all sorts of problems five months prior, but there had been no such problems when Joshua had gone through him.

Speaking to the assembled media ahead of the crossover clash, Joshua explained why he chose Davison as his new head coach.

Boxing promoter Frank Warren explains why Anthony Joshua’s long-awaited fight against Tyson Fury won’t happen this year

“The reason I was able to get along with Ben is because he doesn’t try to change your style,” Joshua told the assembled media.

“It kind of looks at your attributes and adds to what you’re good at.

“I got to a stage where I was trying to change my style: a little bit of backfoot boxing, boxing behind the jab, sticking and moving, not being explosive, controlling the pace, and stuff like that.

“But Ben told me, ‘That’s not your body type! You’re a big fucking unit, you’re explosive, go knock people out.’

“Basically, work according to your body type. So we got along well in that sense. He understands.”
