Anthony Joshua and Wayne Rooney spotted at WWE Live with Cody Rhodes

The stars were out on Friday night as Anthony Joshua and Wayne Rooney were among the celebrities spotted on WWE Live.

The O2 in London hosted WWE Live on Friday night, where undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes was in action as well as former world champion Drew McIntyre.

Rhodes won the main event after performing his signature move, the Cross Rhodes on Shinsuke Nakamura, in front of a sold-out stadium crowd of 20,000.

And there was a reunion of the champions backstage as Joshua attended the event, meeting Rhodes and even donning his belt to pose for photos.

AJ also met WWE superstar Natalya, who was in action at the O2 and beat Shayna Basler that night.

Joshua has not fought since his knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in March but plans to fight again this year in September but no opponent has been named.

Besides the former heavyweight champion, another sports superstar was in the building with Rooney in the crowd and his family.

His young sons are huge WWE fans, while the Manchester United legend has also dabbled in combat sports.

Earlier this year, Rooney admitted he was in talks with KSI’s Misfits Boxing about a possible in-ring fight, although nothing has come to fruition yet.

And even in WWE, the former England international was involved, punching Wade Barrett after insulting him on Raw in November 2015 in Manchester.

Rooney was also ringside in WWE but wasn't about to slap anyone here.

However, on Friday evening, Rooney appeared more restrained as he sat with his children and wife Colleen.

WWE has begun its annual post-Wrestlemania tour of Europe and has already visited Birmingham and Cardiff ahead of its London show.

Saturday night’s event will see the team travel to the SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, while last week a big announcement was made that Berlin would host a premium live event in August.

Along the way, events will take place in Rotterdam, Brussels, Oberhausen, Stuttgart and Frankfurt before the flagship show in Berlin.
