Anthony Edwards was helped in the locker room in the 2nd quarter, the coaches preventing him from putting weight on his left ankle.
Minneapolis (AP) – Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards went out with a left stride at the ankle halfway from the second quarter against Golden State on Thursday, before returning for the second half of match 2 in her second round series.
Edwards tried to finish a quick break with a lay-up that the Warriors Center Trayce Jackson-Davis blocked before landing on Edwards’ left foot while they were both going down.
Edwards immediately caught his ankle when he was sitting on the ground under the basket. He was finally helped out of the field and in the locker room, after Draymond Green of Golden State came to check it.
Edwards has several times in his career which seemed to be seriously injured while he was on the field, to come back later in the match after being treated. It looked bad too, and the Timberwolves went so far as to announce their return status as questionable. But he rebounded again and made the crowd roar when he appeared for the warm -up just before the start of the second half.
Edwards, 23, a triple All-Star who finished fourth in the NBA by scoring during the regular season, collected seven points in first half in shooting 2 for 7.
The Warriors played without Stephen Curry because of a tense left hamstrings that occurred in match 1.
