Anthony Edwards scored 16 of its 30-point summit in the first quarter en route to the home victory of Minnesota Timberwolves at home 143-101 against Oklahoma City Thunder in match 3 of the West Conference final on Saturday.
Edwards preceded the Thunder by itself in the first quarter, 16-14. His Minnesota teammates added 18 more points for an advantage of 34-14.
The Timberwolves kept their foot on the gas for the whole match, taking advances of 72-41 at halftime and 107-70 before the fourth before the 42-point victory.
Edwards was sensational, adding nine rebounds (eight in the first half), six assists and two interceptions while the Minnesota outclassed Oklahoma City by 36 with him on the ground.
In other words, Edwards was excellent, with a few strengths here to prove this notion.
But the Timberwolves also obtained great performance from others. It should be noted that Julius Randle scored 24 points on 9 shots out of 15 (more-38). And four reserves (Naz Reid, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Leonard Miller, Terrance Shannon Jr.) scored 10 or more, the latter player marking 15.
Shannon notably provided a fantastic spark in the 3:32 of the second trimester, marking nine points to give Minnesota an advance of 46-20 and keep the assault by driving. Shannon scored only six points in the playoffs until Saturday, but he scored more points in match 3 than any OKC player.
As a team, Minnesota pulled 57.3% in the field and 50.0% compared to three while exceeding the Thunder 57-41.
Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Guard and the NBA Shai Gilgeous-Alexander MVP could not start, pulling only 4 out of 13 for 14 points. OKC was freezing for a large part of the match, pulling only 40.7% of the field and 31.8% compared to three.
The Thunder simply did nothing on the road, while the Minnesota used the momentum of its crowd at home to take a good start and never look back.
This game finally represented a remarkable return to the Timberwolves, who lost the first two games of this series of best combined points (or one less than they won on Saturday). Now, Minnesota has fought his way in the match while looking for his first appearances in the NBA final in the history of the franchise.
Edwards finally set the tone for Ko Game 3, and fans and analysts congratulated him on this phenomenal effort.
