Anne Hathaway wore a black tie version of the Gap shirt dress

Anne Hathaway just wore the perfect dress for summer, and it’s from a quintessential mall brand. The actress and fashion darling attended a Bvlgari event in Rome on Monday, looking like a vision in a barely-there Zac Posen button-down shirt dress for Gap Inc. with help from celebrity stylist Erin Walsh.

Hathaway was photographed leaving the Bvlgari Hotel in the dress, which featured a wide collar that doubled as straps, one of which was worn around her arm. The dress was buttoned only twice in the middle, revealing a matching sheer corset, also Gap, which protruded from the top and created a slit up the leg to the thigh. She layered pleated shorts from the brand underneath the piece and styled the ensemble with matching pointy-toe pumps.

In terms of accessories, Hathaway naturally opted for Bvlgari jewelry, including a dazzling diamond necklace with a blue sapphire center stone, a silver snake wrap bracelet, coordinating earrings, and a diamond ring and sapphire.

“I’m a brand ambassador and it’s a great honor to be here, especially this year,” Hathaway told WWD at the event. “Because this year marks 140 years of Bulgari as a heritage, a company, a brand, a family. And heritage is something that is very, very important to me. Craftsmanship is something that is very important to me.”
