For years, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the long-awaited third installment of The Princess Diaries, the beloved 2001 film starring Anne and Julie Andrews.

The beloved story follows the journey of teenager Mia Thermopolis, played by Hathaway, as she discovers her royal lineage and her destiny as heir to the throne of Genovia.

In The Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement, Princess Mia meets her charming partner in the dashing Lord Nicholas Devereaux, played by Chris Pine.

Meanwhile, Anne has spoken candidly about the stress she faced in her early adult life.

“As a young woman suffering from chronic stress, I remember thinking one day: ‘You take this for granted. You take your life for granted,” she told Us Weekly.

“So when I see my old instincts kicking in, I just tell myself, ‘You’re not going to die of stress,'” she explained.

When asked about the exact source of her past stress, she said: “The simple answer is literally everything. I was very in my head about a lot of things.

In April, the star opened up about her decision to quit drinking in a candid interview with Vanity Fair.

Anne revealed that abstaining from alcohol was part of her personal health transformation over the past five years.

“I knew deep down it wasn’t for me,” the star admitted.

“And it was so extreme to have to say, ‘But none?’ But none,” she continued. “If you’re allergic to something or you have an anaphylactic reaction to something, you don’t dispute it. So I stopped challenging him.”

Hathaway insisted she wasn’t passing judgment on anyone.

“It’s a path that everyone must take for themselves,” she explained. “My personal experience is that everything gets better. For me, it was fuel. And I don’t like to wallow.

She initially opened up about the decision in January 2019, revealing that her choice to stop imbibing was in order to be more present for her 3-year-old son.

“I didn’t have (a drink) because my drinking was a problem; I left it behind because the way I drink causes me to get hungover and that was the problem,” she told Boston Common Magazine.

“My last hangover lasted five days. When I get to a point in my life where I have enough space to be hungover, I will start drinking again, but that won’t be until my child is out of the house.

Still, the actress said she harbors no resentment toward parents who occasionally indulge in a few drinks. ‘

“I just want to make it clear: most people don’t have to do something this extreme. I don’t think drinking is bad,” she explained.

“’It’s just the way I do it – which I personally find really fun and awesome – which is just not the kind of fun and awesome that goes with having a kid for me. But this is not a moralistic position.”

She also revealed that she suffered a miscarriage in 2015, before welcoming her first child with husband Adam Shulman in March 2016.

The couple now have two sons: Jonathan, seven, and Jack, three.

At the time of the miscarriage, Hathaway was immersed in work, performing in a six-week off-Broadway one-woman show called Grounded.

“The first time it didn’t work for me. I was doing a play and I had to give birth on stage every night,” she explained.

Although it is unclear when exactly the miscarriage occurred, the play – written by George Brant – aired for six weeks in April 2015.

“It was too hard to keep it when I was on stage pretending everything was okay. Otherwise, I had to keep it real. So when it was okay for me, after being on the other side – where you have to have grace to be happy for someone – I wanted to let my sisters know, “You don’t have to always be gracious. I see you and I have been you.”‘, she added.

The Rachel Getting Married star also made the decision to cut other unhealthy habits from her life as much as possible, like minimizing her social media use. ‘

“I make a lot of my lifestyle choices in service of my mental health,” she said.

“I stopped participating in things that I know are exhausting or that can cause spirals. In fact, I have no relationship with myself online.
