“When I first came into their lives, I had no idea how to behave around them,” she confessed. “I remember trying to be really cool, listening to music at the top of my lungs.”
“Like when I came to pick up my daughter-in-law,” she continued, “of course she was mortified.”
As Anna explained, “This is an example of how I stumbled into this position.”
Fortunately, Anna found that stepping back and letting them come to her helped them develop a better relationship.
But as she noted, “it was an uphill battle.”
