Ann Wilson Announces Cancer Diagnosis, Postpones Heart Tour

Ann Wilson, lead singer of rock band Heart, has announced that she has been diagnosed with cancer and that the band will postpone the remaining shows of their Royal Flush tour.

In a statement released Tuesday, the 74-year-old rock legend said she had a cancerous tumor surgically removed and is making a steady recovery.

However, his doctors advised him to undergo preventive chemotherapy and take a break from his activities “in order to fully recover.”

“To the ticket buyers, I would really like us to be able to do these concerts. Please know that I absolutely intend to return to the stage in 2025. My team is working out those details and we will keep you updated on the plan as soon as possible,” Wilson said.

“It’s just a break,” the singer added. “I still have a lot to sing.”

According to the statement, the rescheduled tour dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

More than 50 shows in dozens of cities across the United States and Canada are affected by the postponement.

The rock band also cancelled the European leg of their tour in May, with a statement via X announcing that Wilson was due to undergo “an urgent but routine procedure for which the minimum recovery time is six weeks.”

Heart formed in 1973, with the band led by Wilson and his sister Nancy Wilson on guitar.

Over the decades, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame members have recorded hits like “Magic Man” and “Alone.”
