Angel Reese SALUTES Chennedy Carter’s brutal body check on her former rival Caitlin Clark – as the Chicago Sky star is CLAIMED for her reaction

Angel Reese appeared to celebrate a brutal foul on Caitlin Clark during their highly anticipated WNBA meeting.

In the third quarter of the Sky’s showdown with Fever on Saturday, Reese’s teammate Chennedy Carter shoulder-checked the Fever rookie on an inbounds pass, knocking Clark down on the hardwood.

Carter also appeared to say “you’re screwed” before making aggressive and unnecessary contact with Clark.

Eric Nathan of Barstool Sports then posted a wider angle of the foul, which shows Reese apparently clapping after Carter commits the foul.

As Clark hit the floor, Reese stood up from his seat on the bench and clapped while yelling at Carter, who was walking away after being whistled for the foul. Reese also appears to yell at Carter as if to encourage or compliment his actions.

Following the incident, MLS commentator Taylor Twellman criticized Reese for his reaction, writing: “Such a bad look at Reese too, IMHO.” Baby plays/cheap shots on any athlete are so stupid. Imagine if someone did that to LeBron???’

Other fans flooded the comments section, calling Reese and Carter losers and bullies. Meanwhile, others suggested they were jealous of Clark’s popularity and success.

Nonetheless, Clark had the last laugh as the Fever cruised to a 71-70 victory to claim their first home victory.

Clark had 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists to help the Fever.

On the other hand, Reese had eight points and 13 rebounds in Chicago’s loss.

Reese entered Saturday’s game averaging 11 points, 8.2 rebounds and two assists so far in the W. The former Tiger’s strengths in college have apparently translated well to the pros since she leads all rookies in the tables.

She played and started all seven games for Chicago, which now holds a 3-4 record on the season.

Meanwhile, Clark has averaged 17.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game since joining the league. Unfortunately, the Fever struggled, winning just one of their nine games before Saturday.

In 2023, Reese and the Tigers defeated Clark and the Hawkeyes in the NCAA championship game, 102-85. Reese had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds en route to a championship.

Clark got his revenge in April when Iowa eliminated LSU in the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament. Reese’s 17 points and 20 rebounds were quickly erased by Clark’s 41 points and 12 assists in the 94-87 victory.

Iowa would go to another title game, but lost to Dawn Staley’s South Carolina team.

With Clark being the new babyface of women’s basketball, Reese had already attacked her college rival after they entered the league.

After a win over the New York Liberty in May, Reese tweeted: “And it’s about winning in a crowded zone and not just because of one player on our charter flight.” #SKYTOWN,’ she wrote, with a kissing emoji at the end. Reese quickly deleted the post after it went live.

While the broadcast crew during the game maintained that Carter’s hit was a blatant 1, officials considered it a running foul as Clark made his free throw at the other end.

ā€œIā€™m not answering any questions from Caitlin Clark,ā€ Carter said when asked after the match.
