Angel Reese did the WNBA on Tuesday for taking an investigation into alleged abuses Intended for the Chicago Sky Player and the way the League and its team returned it.
The WNBA said it was investigating abuse reports to the second -year striker during Chicago defeat against Indiana fever on Saturday.
“Obviously, there is no room in this league for this,” said Reese during media availability on Tuesday. “I think the WNBA and our team and our organization have done an excellent job while supporting me.”
Reese said she had received the support of many people from the League following the incident and during the investigation process.
“Obviously, it’s difficult, but I think I have an excellent support system. I am liked so many people and, obviously, when it is difficult to hear, but my support system is great,” added the 23 -year -old.
“I have experienced so many different things in the last two years of my life, but I think that the simple fact of having support and this love, and being part of an organization that really supports me and loves me is something that I just couldn’t imagine not being part.”
Chicago Sky’s head coach Tyler Marsh paid tribute to Reese on how she has treated the process.
“She managed it well.
“I mean, Angel is a winner. Angel is a competitor, and she wants to be there for her teammates and we are certainly there too for her. ”
Marsh added that all those in the franchise will be behind the second year player.
“I think we always want to be there to support each other, no matter what we live in our personal life or our professional life. This is the kind of environment we want to create here. It is who we want to be as an individual and who we want to be as a teammates. ”
The WNBA said after the alleged incident that it “strongly condemns racism, hatred and discrimination in all forms”, while fever said they helped the investigation.
The star goalkeeper of Indiana, Caitlin Clark, published a similar message after a fever training on Monday.
“There is no room for this in our game, there is no room for that in the company,” said Clark, the recruit of the year 2024, to journalists after training on Monday.
“Admittedly, we want each person who enters our arena, whether it is a player or a fan, has a great experience,” added Clark. “I appreciate that the league will do it (the investigation). I appreciate that the organization of fever is at the forefront since the first day. The investigation we will give them the place to find anything and take the appropriate measures if this is the case. ”
Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky will be played three times during the regular season.
