Angel Postcoglou has promised not to be distracted by uncertainty about his future in Tottenham and has no problem with Mauricio Pocsettino dreaming of a return to work.
“I know what my responsibilities are,” said postcoglou before Thursday’s trip to Chelsea.
“I am sure that if the club decides to go in a different direction, there are exceptional candidates for this. And you know what, maybe someone thinks, “Ah Ange Postcoglou is not a bad coach, maybe we will take a boot of clearance on him”.
“It doesn’t lighten my world. It doesn’t consume me. I am here, I am passionate about what we do. I was brought to change the way the club plays, rejuvenate the team, make success, I focus on this. This is what I will continue to do.

“Mauricio, if he wants to come back one day, I hope it will happen to him,” said postcoglou. “We all have dreams and aspirations, and if that’s what he wants.
“I don’t feel disrespectful. If you ask this question directly in Mauricio, you will get a fairly clear answer to its intention. Again, nothing of me to be consumed. I focus more on the test to make sure we win tomorrow evening.
Tottenham languishes in 14th in the Premier League after a disappointing campaign, with all hopes for the season of the season on the Europa League. They face Eintracht Francfurt in the quarterfinals, from next week, but they first travel through London to engage with fierce rivals of Chelsea.
“We understand the meaning of the match,” said Postcoglou. “They are a good side, especially at home. It’s a difficult team to beat. We will have to play our best to overcome them, but it is a great challenge for us. As I said, we have to try to create a momentum in the rest of the season and finish positively.
