Angel Cabrera defended his return to the Masters after being imprisoned for having attacked two ex-girlfriends.
The Argentinian, who triumphed in 2009, served 30 months thanks to a condemnation for domestic violence – and his return to Augusta aroused considerable controversy.
However, the 55 -year -old man was in a provocative mood on Tuesday. “I won the masters, why not (play the masters)?” He said when he was asked to answer those who believe that he should not have been invited to Augusta.
“Obviously, I regret things that have happened and that you learn from them, but at the same time, these are in the past and we have to wait impatiently what is happening.”
Cabrera, who admitted to having launched a mobile phone at the head of an ex and injured his scalp, at least said that he understood the fury around his return.
“I respect their opinion and everyone has their own opinion and I respect this,” he said.
