Travis Kelce decided not to retire following the devastating loss of the chiefs against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and the tight end is now preparing for its 13th NFL season with a kind of particular intensity.
Kelce, 35, weighed away from football in February, but finally decided to return to Kansas City after the hopes of three team tours were canceled.
And according to the coach of the Chiefs Andy Reid, who spoke on Monday with journalists from the meetings of the owners of the NFL, Kelce is “ trains like a madman ” after a disappointing end of the season.
“I just wanted him to put it there and not me,” added Reid about Kelce’s announcement that he was coming back, via athletics.
“I always like guys to step back (after the season), but he wants to come back and he trains like crazy too.”
While Kelce confirmed that he was returning on February 27 with a text to Pat McAfee – 18 days after the Super Bowl Lix – Reid told journalists that Kelce informed him that he returned less than a week after the 40-22 defeat against Philadelphia.

The future temple of fame has struggled with its noble standards during the 2024 season, displaying its fewer reception (823) and touchdown (three) since its second season in 2014.
Reid spoke to journalists from Palm Beach, Florida, that the playing time of the tight ensemble could be reduced in 2025 to keep it cooler.
He also suggested that Kansas City reception core may have made life more difficult for Kelce.
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown missed most of the regular season after undergoing a pre-season shoulder injury, while Rashee Rice suffered a knee injury at the end of the season in week 4.
“I did not think it was a problem this year, but I thought we were struck in external positions and that did not help a tight cause,” said Reid.
“I just think that the more we can be healthier around him – he can always be productive.”
Kelce was silent during the defeat of the Chiefs against the Eagles of New Orleans, totaling only 39 yards on four receptions.

Nevertheless, as he explained later on his New summits Podcast with his brother Jason, he feels that he has more to contribute.
“I think the most important thing is that I love playing football,” he said. “I love playing. I always feel like I can play it at a high level and perhaps at a level higher than that of last year. I don’t think it’s my best outing.
“I think I dropped my guys in many more moments than I have helped them, especially if you look at my history and how I have passed for years. I want to give him a good race. I had a bad taste in my mouth in the way I finished last year and how good I played and how responsible I was towards the people around me.
“I love so many people in Kansas City, both in this establishment, in the community, and it’s at home for me now. I don’t want to leave this life yet. I put a lot of hard work and I focus a lot to be the best possible for KC last year, it did not end well for us. I just have the impression that there is a responsibility in me to play the contract that I initially signed, to give Kansas City and to the organization of the chiefs all I have, and that’s what I will do, guy.
