The Night Cop returned for season 2 and has already raced to the top of the Netflix charts. It’s likely to be there for a while, considering Season 1 is the seventh most-watched English-language series in Netflix history, but once you’re done, you might want to know the season 3.
You may have already heard that yes, it’s getting a season 3. The Night Agent was renewed for season 3 more than a month before season 2 aired, indicating the large amount of Netflix faith in the series, although it no longer adapts its original source material book, as it was never an ongoing series.
But now there is additional information about season 3 from Netflix itself.
The Night Agent Season 3 is wasting no time and production has already started in Istanbul. At some point in 2025, he’ll return to theaters in New York, which might give you a hint about his storyline. This production timing may indicate that Season 3 could arrive in less time than the 22-month gap between the first two seasons. It will continue with the same showrunner/creator Shawn Ryan. We also have a list of new regular cast members who will be joining star Gabriel Basso for season 3. They are:
- David Lyons (uh)
- Jennifer Morrison (house)
- Stephen Moyer (True Blood)
- Genesis Rodriguez (lioness)
- Callum Vinson (Chucky)
- Suraj Sharma (recurring role, not regular) (life of pi)
You may not recognize many of these names offhand, but yes, you’ve almost certainly seen them before, if not in these shows listed, then perhaps other series and movies.
As for the plot of Season 3, you might be able to get at least some level of an idea if you’ve finished Season 2, but I won’t go into spoilers here. The series seems a bit more self-contained than other shows in the genre, which I would argue reflect a series it’s trying to compete with for Amazon Prime Video’s fan, which has the same lead but quite different cases to every time. But we’ll see what Night Agent wants to do with his own concept over time here. I predict less Five seasons of this show when all is said and done, because this is the kind of hit Netflix really wants to see. My main question now is to see if Season 2 surpasses Season 1, and it’s already coming back better, at the very least.
