A report released Thursday says 47% of the European Union’s electricity will come from renewable sources in 2024, and experts call it a promising sign for the world’s ability to move away from fuels fossils that are causing climate change.
Here’s a look at the world’s largest electricity producers and how much of their electricity comes from renewable energy. The data comes from climate energy think tank Ember and is for 2023.
