The Orange County District Prosecutor’s office accused a Santa Ana high school student of murder and assault in the dead stabbing of a 14 -year -old classmate during a fight after school who also left two other injured students.
The 15 -year -old man, who was not identified because he is a minor, also faces two chiefs of assault with a fatal weapon for having pretended to stabbed the other two classmates earlier this week.
The teenager and his 17 -year -old brother went to the police on Wednesday, a few hours after the fatal incident in front of the Santa Ana high school, according to the authorities.
Santa Ana police officer Natalie Garcia said the brothers had been interviewed by the investigators, then transported to Juvenile Hall, where they had been reserved. She said that the 17 -year -old was in detention.
The incident occurred on Wednesday at 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday when Santa Ana’s police school reported a stab in a fight in front of the Santa Ana high school.
At least three students, aged 14, 15 and 16, were found with injuries by stab wounds and led by paramedical paramedics to the hospital.
The prosecutors said that the 14 -year -old who died had been stabbed in the heart and was identified by the authorities like Armando Morales de Santa Ana. His family created a GoFundme page to collect funds for their funeral expenses.
Misael Morales wrote on the site that his brother was a happy and intelligent child who was known to make people laugh.
Jazmin Delgado, the victim’s cousin, echoed these words in an interview with KABC-TV.
“He was always a happy child and always liked to help and was just an incredible little child,” Delgado told the station.
Armando’s family said the teenager was in the wrong place at the wrong time. They said he intervened to help his friends when he was stabbed.
What triggered the confrontation remains under investigation by the police, who alleys that the people involved in the struggle, with the exception of the victim, were affiliated with gangs.
