Investigators arrested a 22-year-old woman who would have been drunk when she crushed the Tesla whom she was driving in a railing, killing her passenger, late Sunday evening in Chula Vista, said officials of the California road patrol.
The police received the call according to which a Tesla 3 had, for reasons still under investigation, turned to the right and struck a crash cushion on the interstate 805 in the northern direction near the state road 54 around 10:35 pm, said CHP officer Kimberly Gonzalez.
The car then turned off and crashed into the railing for the auxiliary route to the transition, said Gonzalez.
The man who rolls as a passenger in the car suffered major injuries and died before he could be taken to the hospital, according to investigators. His name has not yet been published while waiting for the notification of his family.
The driver, identified by the authorities like Kara Johnson, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, then arrested for suspicion of Dui, causing injuries and manslaughter.
The accident is the subject of an investigation.
