The alleged driver in an accident of a flight offense who killed an Escondido man, 25, walking through rue de Valley Center was arrested on Friday, said road patrol officers in California.
Nolan Deskovick, 40, was arrested as part of the accident reported around 10:50 p.m. on Lake Wohlford Road near Valley View Casino on Thursday, officer Hunter Gerber said in a press release.
Paramedical paramedics arrived on the scene and took the pedestrian to the hospital, where he died, said Gerber. His name will be published while waiting for the notification of his family.
The police learned that the pedestrian walked in the direction is on the other side of the road when it was struck by a Chevrolet Equinox, said Gerber. The SUV then fled the scene.
Investigators connected Desproche to the accident and arrested him the next day around 6:30 a.m., he was sentenced to Vista prison.
On Tuesday, when he charged his indictment, Deskovick pleaded not guilty for having struck and managed, causing death with allegations that he had committed the offense when he was on deposit, according to the office of the district prosecutor.
His deposit was set at $ 500,000 and risks a maximum sentence of eight years in prison, the prosecutors said.
