Amir Khan confirms he’s in negotiations to fight KSI as he draws comparison to Mike Tyson

Amir Khan says his fight with KSI could be announced within four weeks.

“King Khan” retired from professional boxing in 2022 after a devastating loss to Kell Brook, but is now ready to move into the influencer sphere.

Last week, KSI’s fierce rival Jake Paul leaked the news that Khan was in negotiations to fight the British YouTube star.

And now the former unified welterweight world champion has confirmed this to be true.

“Should this be signed and concluded, I think we will receive an announcement in the next four weeks and then start preparing,” Khan told Offshore Poker Sites.

“The UK (is my preference) because boxing fans always come and everyone in the UK will want me to punch their face.”

KSI has had five professional fights (4-1) since his turnaround in 2019, with the only blemish on his record coming against Tommy Fury in his last outing.

Khan far surpasses KSI in terms of experience with 40 professional fights (34-6) under his belt.

Although his best days are certainly behind him, the 37-year-old insists he is nowhere as good as Mike Tyson, who is expected to return to the ring against Paul at 58 in the not-too-distant future .

“He chooses someone who is very dangerous and who can hurt him very badly,” Khan added.

“Mike Tyson is long past his best and really doesn’t have it anymore, but I still have it in me.

“I’m always training and staying in shape. He’s having fun with someone who just retired.

“They want to involve lawyers and everything, the negotiations have come to this. I’m a boxer and if it makes sense financially then 100 percent (it will happen).

“These YouTubers sometimes have teeth bigger than they can chew. He said he wants to fight and when the contract is signed he will be hurt.

“He will understand then that there will be no going back. He may take this fight as a bit of hype, but I don’t take it as a joke.”

The end of Khan’s professional career was marred by controversy after it emerged that he had tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine in a drug test taken the night of his fight with Brook.

He was handed a two-year ban by the UK-Anti Doping (UKAD), which ended in February, meaning he is free to compete under the auspices of the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC ) if he wishes.

Khan maintains to this day that he did not intentionally digest the banned substance.
