Americans don’t want to be ruled by an ‘extreme’ GOP that doesn’t live in reality

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that the average American doesn’t want to be ruled by Republicans “who live in a totally different reality.”

Clinton said, “I’ve always thought the best policy does the best job it can, and there’s a lot Democrats can talk about in the upcoming midterms. I am aware that mid-terms are always difficult for the party in power, but we must start there and say it better. For those who say it didn’t go far enough, that’s still the refrain in Democratic party politics. But I would add that in Republican party politics, you have an even bigger disconnect. Unfortunately, most of this party has now gone to extremes and said and done things that have no basis in reality. So we have a good case to make if we focus in the right place.

She added, “There are a lot of good accomplishments to present to the board, and Democrats in and out of office need to do a better job of making their case. Frankly, standing up to the other side with their madness and calls for impunity and madness that you hear coming from them. I don’t think the average American, frankly, wants to be ruled by people who live in a totally different reality.
