American man beaten to death while protecting his child during a fight at school

Christopher Michael Wright, 43, of Maryland, was beaten to death outside his home as he tried to protect his children from a mob who wanted to break up a fight at school. According to a report by New York PostMr Wright was outside his home when he was confronted by three teenagers and two adults who were looking for his fiancee’s 14-year-old son.

The 14-year-old had an argument with another teenager at Brooklyn Park Middle School earlier in the day, WBAL-TV reported.

When the man told the group the kid wouldn’t come out of his house to fight, they told him: ‘If he’s not going to fight, then you’re going to fight,’ Wright’s fiancée said , Tracy Karopchinsky.

The group attacked Mr Wright and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of a traumatic brain injury on Saturday.

“Just looking at the damage done to him, it wasn’t just the punch that did that. Like, there’s no way the punch did that. The damage was done before the ambulance took him. I mean, he had had a seizure. It was done. There was nothing the hospital could do,” Ms Karopchinsky said.

The fight was filmed by a security camera.

“My dad and I tried to get in front of the camera to watch, and the first video that comes up is of my 12-year-old son yelling ‘Daddy, daddy, daddy’ and running out of the house onto the street to go and help his father,” Karopchinsky said. “And I couldn’t watch after that. I just couldn’t.”

An investigation is ongoing and school officials have also confirmed the fight at the school.

So far, no charges have been brought against anyone.
