(Reuters) – General Motors said on Tuesday an increase of around 17% of American sales in the first quarter, helped by the demand for vans and affordable crosswater SUVs.
The quarterly sales of the Affordable Chevrolet Trax SUV of GM, which is made in South Korea, jumped 57%, indicating that some buyers have advanced their purchases before President Donald Trump’s prices on automotive imports.
Global sales reached 693,363 units in the three months until March, against 594,233 units a year earlier.
