American Airlines provides major growth in its largest center.
The airline and international airport of Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) announced on Thursday reworked plans for a new terminal of $ 4 billion which would bring dozens of new doors – all for American – and would serve as “the experience of the signature terminal of the airport”.
The new terminal, known as Terminal F, will be the sixth of DFW.
The new installation was already under construction, following an agreement that the carrier based in Fort Worth reached with its original airport in 2023.
But Thursday’s announcement brought a significant revision to these plans, increasing the construction calendar and considerably increases the size of the new installation.
“DFW is the largest and most critical of the Americans, and with this plan extended to Terminal F, DFW has a clear path to become the largest airline center in the world,” American CEO Robert Isom said in a statement announcing the news.
The first phase of Terminal F should currently open its doors in 2027.
The new DFW F terminal
The most recent American DFW terminal will provide the carrier with a much higher door space for large -hand bomber planes – and will offer more treatment capacity for passengers arriving on these incoming international flights.
Terminal F will also have dedicated areas for new fairs; The renderings shared on Thursday seemed to show the entry of a new admiral club.

Construction plans provide a new parking lot and recording experience and redesigned airport hall, as well as a new Skylink station which would transparently connect customers, the aerial side, to existing DFW terminals.
As part of the previous plans of Terminal F, customers would have taken the Skylink to Terminal E, then worked for the new hall.
Terminal F will also offer a walking connection with the DFW terminal D, currently its largest international center – and will house some of the airport’s most premium salons, including a Capital One fair and an American Express Centurion Lounge.
American growth in DFW
The American investment of several billion dollars in DFW occurs because it has more and more supported on its attachment basis in Texas in recent years.
Last year, the airline stole with 33% seats in addition to DFW than that of a decade earlier, according to data from the Cirium air analysis company.
Overall, the airport experienced almost 60% more seats in all airlines to international destinations last year that 10 years earlier, in 2014, by Cirium.
This includes a notable boost of connectivity to distant destinations in Asia and the South Pacific, helped, in part, by the non -stop service on the American Alliance partners like Cathay Pacific, Qantas and Japan Airlines.
This growth should not end: DFW CEO, Sean Donohue, said in November 2023 that it expected that passenger traffic in DFW is increasing by 25% by 2030.
More flights and passengers, combined with a booming population in northern Texas, had already inspired major fixed assets at the airport, TPG reported last year.
Among them: a lifting of $ 3 billion currently in terminal C, which is currently the American terminal at the airport.

DFW was a most useful American airport last year, Council International airports recently reported. He only dragged Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL) International Airport, the Delta Air rival attachment base and perpetually the most frequented airport in the world.
