Amazon Web Services outages took many global websites and apps offline, including Signal, Coinbase, and Robinhood.
AWS, Amazon’s cloud services unit, said it was still trying to stabilize its operations after a major outage that led to connectivity issues for a large number of popular websites and apps around the world.
In an update on its status page Monday, Amazon Web Services (AWS) said it was still investigating “significant API errors and connectivity issues across multiple services” after the major global internet disruption, which hit big names like Zoom, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo, Canva, Wordle and more.
After more than six hours of disruption at the world’s largest cloud provider, some applications gradually came back online as of 10:00 a.m. ET (2:00 p.m. GMT), with apps like Reddit and Roblox stabilizing, according to outage tracking site Downdetector.
But others, including Snapchat and Duolingo, were showing a resurgence of issues experienced earlier in the day.
AWS provides on-demand computing power, data storage, and other digital services to businesses, governments, and individuals. Disruptions to its servers can lead to outages on websites and platforms that depend on its cloud infrastructure.
News of the ongoing difficulties came after AWS reported earlier today that “the underlying DNS issue has been fully mitigated and most AWS service operations are now successful.”
“Some requests may be limited while we work towards a full resolution,” it adds.
The company said the problem centered on DynamoDB, a database service located in one of Amazon’s main data centers in Virginia in the United States, known as US-EAST-1. He recommended that people still experiencing issues related to the outage try flushing their DNS caches.
The outage caused major issues for popular websites and apps around the world. Platforms including AI startup Perplexity, trading app Robinhood, messaging app Signal and crypto exchange Coinbase all reported issues they said were due to the AWS outage.

AWS is one of the giant providers of cloud computing services, competing with Google and Microsoft cloud services to offer on-demand computing power, data storage and other digital services to businesses and institutions.
Problems with its servers can wreak havoc on the web, with many businesses relying on its infrastructure to operate.

Downdetector, a site where Internet users report outages, identified hundreds of popular sites where users had difficulty accessing due to the outage.
Names on the list included Zoom, Roblox, Fortnite, Duolingo, Canva, Wordle and more.
Amazon’s shopping site, Prime Video and Alexa were also facing issues, according to the site.
News agency Reuters reported that Uber rival Lyft’s app was also down for thousands of users in the United States, while many bank customers in the United Kingdom were also reporting outages.
