Amazon is now selling a “no console required” Xbox bundle

Amazon has launched a “No Console Required” Xbox bundle, coinciding with the recent release of the Fire TV Stick Xbox Cloud Gaming app, allowing Xbox Game Pass users to stream games directly to their TV without the need for an Xbox console.

“Stream Xbox games. No console required,” reads Amazon’s product page, which also mentions that it’s “the only streaming media player with the Xbox app.” The new bundle coincides with Amazon’s Prime Day event, which runs from July 16 to 17.

The controller is currently priced at $78.99, a savings of $40.99 compared to buying the controller, subscription, and streaming stick separately. There are even multiple colors to choose from, with white, blue, and green Xbox controllers all part of the deal.

Microsoft’s next big push into cloud streaming dramatically expands the potential audience for Xbox games and the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

All you need is a compatible Fire TV Stick, a Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream Xbox games. This bundle ticks all the boxes, providing everything a potential gamer would need to get started.

An ad accompanying the new streaming initiative recently sparked debate among hardcore Xbox fans. The ad, reminiscent of the Scream movies, features a woman answering the phone to an unnamed man disguising his voice, raising eyebrows. “You don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox,” the ad declares, followed by a tweet from Xbox stating, “No console? Fear not.”

Includes Fire TV Stick 4K Max with Robot White Core Wireless Controller + one free month of Game Pass for new members.

Game Pass Ultimate is also part of its own special promotion during the Prime Day sales, with Amazon offering $7.50 in store credit when users purchase three months of Game Pass.

Additionally, the Fire Stick 4K Max is down to its best price of the year, at just $34.99, which is $25 off its original list price of $59.99. That’s a steal, especially if you’re equipped with the latest Wi-Fi 6 tech at home. This device is a great choice for streaming video games, as the upgraded Wi-Fi chip could prove invaluable in the long run.
