Barcelona: Carlo Ancelotti says that Xabi Alonso has “all open doors” for a move in a large club with speculation that the former Real Madrid midfielder should replace the Italian coach at the head of the Spanish power.
Ancelotti gave his routine pre-match pre-match press conference on Saturday, a day after Alonon announced that he was leaving Bayer Leverkusen. He praised Alonso’s work, which was largely linked to a possible move to Madrid after conducting the German club as Bundesliga last season.
“I read that Xavi leaves Bayer Leverkusen, where he did a fantastic job,” said Ancelotti. “He has all the doors open because he has shown that he is one of the best coaches in the world.” Ancelotti again refused to talk about his future, especially before the decisive classico on Sunday in Barcelona at La Liga. Madrid drags Barcelona by four points and must win to keep her chances of winning a trophy this campaign.
But he spoke with emotion of what Madrid means – and will mean – for the most successful manager in European football.
For Ancelotti, his relationship with the club he spent six seasons in two stays is an eternal “honeymoon”. “The honeymoon with this club never ends, it continues forever,” he said. “I think Real Madrid, like Milan before, are the teams that stay with me given the time I spent here. At the beginning, there is passion, and when it fades other feelings to emerge, a feeling of tender care. My honeymoon with Real Madrid will last as long as I live. ”
The 65 -year -old coach is under contract during the next campaign, but should largely leave after a disappointing season during which the team played worse despite the addition of Mbappé Kylien to his team.
Brazil has been courting Ancelotti for over a year and it seems that discussions are still underway with the director of veterans.
