Alkahest is a new medieval fantasy first-person action RPG that looks stunning

Alkahest is a new first-person fantasy action-adventure RPG from developer Push On that presents itself as a spiritual successor to Dark Messiah of Might & Magic while citing Dishonored and Kingdom Come: Deliverance as its influences. In it, you will participate in close-quarters combat, explore realistic medieval locations, learn alchemy and much more. Check out the fantastic trailer above and the first screenshots in the gallery below.

Alkahest takes place in the kingdom of Kadanor, where you are the youngest son of a lesser lord. The balance of power in the region is precarious to say the least, with three chambers vying for control. You will explore castles, villages, forests and other settings worthy of a medieval fantasy setting.

Perhaps more interestingly, Alkahest promises “dynamic combat focused on an interactive environment.” This means you will build combos with your attacks and the environment. An example from Play On gives: “Drop a tree on (an enemy’s) head, knock him off a cliff, set him on fire. » This fire part comes from the Alkahest alchemy system, which augments melee combat instead of a magic system. You’ll follow recipes or concoct your own throwables, drinkables, weapon oils and enemy traps. Stealth and brute force melee combat are both supported and encouraged.

Alkahest is currently in development for PC and we will share more as development progresses.
