Alex Ovechkin is now five goals from immortality after finding Paydirt against Buffalo’s sabers on Sunday.
Logly kept by two different sabers defenders, Ovechkin redirected a Rasmus Sandin in front of goalkeeper James Reimer to close the third period of Buffalo at 6-4.
The goal scored the 890th of Ovechkin in his career.
“He marks!” Joe Beninati said during the call. “He can see the top of the mountain here, we are in Defcon Five!”
