Alabama man charged with shooting 5 people, including wife and 2 children

The suspect has been charged with capital murder.

An Alabama man has been charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of five people, including his wife and two children, authorities said.

The quintuple homicide occurred in West Blocton, Bibb County, around 10 p.m. Central time Thursday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation.

The suspect – Brandon Kendrick, 32 – is accused of shooting and killing his wife, Kelsey Kendrick, 24, a 2-year-old child, two 6-year-old children and a 9-year-old child, ALEA said.

Among the minor victims, two were the suspect’s children and two were relatives, according to ALEA.

Kendrick was arrested and charged with five counts of capital murder. He was booked into the Bibb County Jail without bail.

It is not known whether he has a lawyer.

The ALEA Bureau of Investigation has launched an investigation into the quintuple homicide.

No additional information has been released during the ongoing investigation, including a suspected motive.

The agency’s findings will be forwarded to the Alabama Fourth Judicial Circuit Attorney’s Office.
