An Alabama high school secretary was arrested for having sex with a college student – and appeared to smile in her passport photo.
Martha Sasser Pope, 43, was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of a school employee engaging in sex with a teenager at Elba High School, WTVY reported.
Court documents obtained by the station show that the secretary had sex and oral sex with the student on September 10. It is not known where the alleged sexual acts took place.
The student was a 16-year-old boy, a source told WDHN.
Pope has been put on paid administrative leave as an investigation continues, the Elba city school principal told the station.
Pope was hired as a high school secretary last year and returned in April for the current school year, the Southeast Sun reported. She was held on $ 5,000 bond and was later released from Coffee County Jail, the outlet reported.
A message left Thursday morning with the Pope, from Elba, was not immediately returned. She is due in court for her initial appearance on November 10, WTVY reported. It is not known if she has hired a lawyer who could speak on her behalf.
