Ajay Devgn is one of the most popular superstars of Bollywood. While he treated fans with Shaitan and Singham Again last year, in 2025, he takes on the role of mentor and co-star for two young actors. Ajay stars in Azaad with Aaman Devgan (his nephew) and Rasha Thadani (the daughter of his yesteryear co-star Raveena Tandon). The team launched the trailer of their upcoming film in Mumbai on Monday. Speaking at the event, Ajay reflected on what has changed over the years since his debut in Phool Aur Kaante. Ajay said, “We were very raw. We went to the set and learned everything there. Nowadays, the younger generation is more prepared.” And this is very important, he notes: “The public maaf nahi karti hai. So it is a good thing that these young people are prepared. Hamari galtiyoon ko maaf kar deti thi public mais aaj ki public kisi ko bhi maaf nahi karti.” Also Read – Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlat Hai Serial Update: Abhira-Armaan clash in court, will they decide to part ways forever?

Talking about Rasha and Aaman, Ajay felt that they both worked very hard for Azaad, their debut film, and their director Abhishek Kapoor (fondly called Gattu) guided them well. “I keep firing Aaman and pushing him to do better than his best because I know the audience is ruthless. There is a lot of pressure on young kids coming to the cinema these days,” a revealed Ajay. Azaad also marks the big screen debut of television actor Mohit Malik. It also stars Diana Penty in a key role and features her in a never before seen avatar. Azaad tells the story of a young boy and his horse and their heartwarming bond. The film was largely shot in Jaipur.

The film Azaad hits theaters on January 17, 2025 and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor.
