(Fox 9) – Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has published an air quality alert for the entire minnesota due to the Continuous fires in Canada.

MPCA has published an air quality alert because Canada’s heavy surface forest smoke should follow a cold front in Minnesota, affecting the whole state.

The alert will be in place from 11 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.

The MPCA says that smoke should move through the state from west to east on Saturday evening, then deviate from west to east on Sunday afternoon or evening.

The air quality index should reach the orange category, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups.

What to expect:

Minnesotans can expect to see a blurred sky and feel smoke in the air, says MPCA.

For sensitive groups, such as people with asthma, mpoc, heart disease, children, older adults and pregnant people, being outside during the alert could have an impact on their health.

What you can do:

MPCA says it is to reduce activities that contribute to poor air quality, such as fires, reducing vehicle travel and slow motion as possible.
