After GOP letter, DOD to look into DEI chief’s mockery of white people

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) applauded the Pentagon for reviewing recently emerged white-disparaging remarks made by the Chief of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Department of Education’s K-12 school system. Defense, after she and another Republican congressman sent a letter to the DOD.

“Following advocacy by House Republicans, the Department of Defense will conduct a review of [Department of Defense’s Education Activity (DoDEA)’s woke diversity chief and her history of divisive rhetoric,” Stefanik said in a statement about Kelisa Wing.

Wing, who oversees the DEI curriculum for all of the military’s K-12 schools that serve more than 66,000 children, disparaged white people on a number of occasions on social media.

Wing wrote in June 2020 on her Twitter account, “I’m exhausted with these white folx in these [professional development] sessions. »

She also tweeted in July 2020: “[T]his lady actually had the audacity to say black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS… [W]We are not the majority, we do not have the power.

“Caudacity” is a derogatory slang term combining “Caucasian” and “boldness”.

Wing apparently deleted his Twitter account, but not before Fox News captured his tweets.

After Stefanik and Rep. Scott Franklin (R-FL) demanded answers from the Pentagon about those statements, a DOD spokeswoman said they would look into the “matter.”

Navy Commander. Nicole Schwegman told Fox News, “We are aware of reports regarding a DoDEA official. The Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness is looking into this issue.

However, Schwegman added, “Diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in… [DoDEA] are an important part of building and maintaining an organizational culture where all students, educators, and staff are valued and respected. …Our goal remains to ensure military-related students, their families, and our employees have equitable access to opportunities and resources that support student success and college and career readiness.

Stefanik said in a statement Monday:

The fact that Mrs. Wing’s story in favor of extreme woke ideologies went undiscovered, or worse ignored, needs to be corrected. The Department of Defense must realign its priorities away from woke ideologies and back to strengthening our national defense. The goal of our military should be to keep our nation safe, and I am committed to ensuring that our military is fully equipped to defend our country against the multitude of threats we face around the world. Right now, with the Pentagon failing to fill our military ranks and our adversaries around the world rapidly increasing their capabilities, the Department of Defense has consistently prioritized adherence to woke ideologies over strengthen our national defense. It is shameful and an insult to the brave men and women who selflessly serve our nation. I pledge to continue working to restore Americans’ confidence in our military by providing our service members with the resources necessary to win our nation’s wars and support their families.
