A man who was renovating his childhood home recently discovered an incredible treasure in the wall, forgotten for 46 years.
When Tim King, 53, of Lombard, Illinois, found a gift wrapped in Christmas-themed paper behind a bathroom wall, he was intrigued. A few moments later, he saw that his name was written on the package, the New York Post reported Sunday.
“We took out a medicine cabinet before we put up drywall, and I thought, ‘I better look inside to make sure there’s nothing in there.’ And then it was there! The king said People delicious and nostalgic discovery.
He shared video footage of the wall and the gift in a social media post on December 27. The wrapping paper featured Disney characters such as Dumbo, Daffy Duck, Bambi and Pinocchio.
“This is my Christmas present,” King said:
Social media users shared their thoughts on the fun discovery, with one person writing: “If this isn’t a literal step towards a time machine then I don’t know what is.” I would give anything to find an old, unwrapped gift from my childhood. Glad he found it!!!
“Hey! Your mom is just like mine! She keeps finding the presents she bought us way after Christmas or birthdays,” someone else said.
In a later video, King showed curious social media users what was under the packaging. It turned out to be a box of Thunder Jets toy planes:
“I love it. A little bit of that childhood Christmas magic carried over into adulthood,” one user responded to the video.
According to King, his mother does not remember buying him the gift. He said his parents hid presents in the attic and he thought the box fell into a crawl space.
According to the JobKing believes the gift was purchased in 1978.
“I would have been 6. So it’s pretty awesome,” he said.
