After a poorly received experience in Las Vegas, the American cinema market returns to Los Angeles for its edition in 2025.
AFM 2025 will take place from 11 to 16 November at Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, right next to Beverly Hills.
“Our return to a particular meaning following the recent devastating fires,” said Jean Mr. Prewitt and Clay Epstein, CEO and president, respectively, of the independent Film & Television Alliance, which organizes AFM. “It will be encouraging to meet as colleagues here once again, where the AFM has started, and in doing so to participate in the reconstruction of the city which is a vital center of our industry.”
The ascent to Hollywood is likely to be applauded by film buyers and world sellers, many of whom have complained about the 24 -hour noise and the somewhat surreal and rebutting atmosphere of the last year market, which has took place inside the Palms Casino off the Vegas Strip, far from the heart of the cinema in Los Angeles.
“(Fairmont Century Plaza) is ideally located a few minutes from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Westwood and next to AMC Century City 15 for projections,” the IFTA press release said. “Renovated, the Fairmont is a perfect mixture of prestige, accessibility, equipment and price in accordance in recent years.”
This decision is the third in as many years for the AFM, which was forced to leave its longtime house at the Loews hotel in Santa Monica in 2023 for a place less than Ideal at the top of the hill of the Mriridian hill DELFINA. Vegas’ stay followed.
“Your comments highlighted the importance of AFM as a gathering space and Los Angeles as an optimal location,” added the IFTA in its declaration, referring to the uproar of the industry that followed the VEGAS experience from last year. “The Fairmont offers the location that best meets your call to an elegant framework that maximizes convenience and encourages productivity.”
Details on the Plans and the agenda of the AFM for 2025 are expected soon, said the organization.
