AFL’s great Nick Riewoldt urged Western Bulldogs to separate from striker Jamarra Ugle-Hagan following a controversial comment on social networks that has rekindled questions about his future at the club.
The 23-year-old, who trains far from the senior group in a flexible arrangement since December 2024, has been registered with a new control after an Instagram exchange during the weekend.
UGLE-HANGAN shared a photo of itself celebrating its birthday at dinner with friends.
When a follower asked if he had trained that day or had the day of leave, Uggle-Hagan replied: “The day of rest to your articulated moms”.
The post was discussed on The Agenda Setters of Channel 7, where the Panelist Craig Hutchison labeled the inappropriate response.
“This photo did not help again the weekend,” said Hutchison. “He commented inappropriately to someone on Instagram.”
UGLE-HAGAN shared this image with friends in the last bad look of the star of the western BULLDOGS who has not yet played for the club this year
UGLE-HAGAN was requested by a follower if he was in training and returned the fire with a coarse response
The commentary sparked a strong reaction from Riewoldt, which said that the bulldogs had to make a decisive movement.
“I think it’s clear for Western Bulldogs now. It is clear, ”said Riewoldt.
“You have one of the best former attackers of young keys that we could have seen since very, very long. A generational talent in Sam Darcy. You don’t need Jamarra.
Riewoldt argued that even if Uggle-Hagan always had a potential value, the club would better plan a future without him.
“So I would do everything I can to fatten it this year. This means recovering it at some point to play footy. I hope he strikes a bag, “he said.
“It’s not good, but it only has to come back at a given moment to show what he is capable of for a game or two, then extract a maximum value for him.”
“Because you don’t need him. Sam Darcy needs a Mihocek Brody next to him or a Taylor Walker.
UGLE-HAGAN has not played since the final defeat of the elimination of the 37 points of the Bulldogs against Hawthorn in late 2024, where he finished with only four eliminations, one behind and no goal.
The legend of St Kilda, Nick Riewoldt, said that Bulldogs should cut links with UGLE-HAGAN at the end of the year
This comes after a series of appearances during other sporting events and in bars without delay offered on his return (UGLE-HAGAN is represented with the boxer Tim Tszyu)

He obtained club leave in December to focus on personal issues and began to train separately from the main team.
Despite certain signs of progress, his out -of -phase behavior continued to lift the eyebrows.
In February 2025, Uggle-Hagan played in the Aboriginal match All Stars in Perth and, in March, joined the Bulldogs VFL training group before reconnecting with the senior team.
Coach Luke Beveridge recently said UGLE-HAGAN made positive progress.
“He collapses”, “Marra”, so it’s encouraging, “said Beveridge.
“The more it can be involved in these main sessions … He looked really good the other day, the closer he is to play.”
However, his commitment was questioned after a series of public appearances during the AFL season.
In March, he was seen on the field during an NBL final, assistant to an LNR match, then photographed in a bar in Melbourne the same evening that the Bulldogs celebrated their 100th anniversary against Collingwood – a match he did not attend.
A week later, he was present at Marvel Stadium for the confrontation of the bulldogs with Carlton, mixing with fans at halftime.
Speculations on his future have continued, clubs like the Sydney Swans and St Kilda would have interested the young attacker.
However, Uggle-Hagan remains without chronology to return to senior football, and the Bulldogs are faced with a difficult decision.
