The national intelligence agency of Germany has officially classified the extreme right alternative for the German party (AFD) as a “proven right -wing organization”, marking the most serious stage to date in Berlin’s efforts to contain the growing political force.
This decision, announced Friday by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BFV), means that AFD is no longer simply suspected. The agency says that it now has final evidence that the party is working on the German democratic system.
An internal report of 1,000 pages, according to the German public broadcaster, Ard, underpins the decision, citing the violations of the fundamental constitutional principles such as human dignity and the rule of law.
