The Racehorse Lotto National Stakes, for two-year-olds, could prove to be a massive race for the future with Blue Storm, Elite Status and On Point in contention.

The ten runners offer an open contest with bets starting at around 3/1.

All but one of the runners have won a race, the majority of them only racing for the second time and have a huge sum of money behind them.

Two foals from Blue Point compete: Blue Storm and On Point.

While the Havana Gray Elite Status colt could be the threat for both.

And it’s the one who likes the most in the second set because of his emphatic victory by three lengths despite an 11/2 shot.

Havana Gray won this race in 2017 by length at odds of 5/1 and in her second run, Elite Status could follow in her father’s footsteps.

7.12: Enemy 11/10

A touch more consistent than his main rival in the market, Nate The Great, and it gives him a wink past him at Sandown.

Richard Kingscote has jockeyed this horse for his last four races, but has now been replaced by Frankie Dettori, with the former riding Roberto Escobarr instead.

All went well earlier this month in Chester in the competitive Ormonde Stakes which were held on soft ground.

The enemy was just passed but should be adapted by a return to good ground and a distance of 2m.

7.42: Desert Crown 4/7

This is a big renewal of the Brigadier Gerard Stakes with the Derby winner reappearing for his seasonal debut.

Facing some interesting rivals too, in the form of Hukum and Cash.

But colt Nathaniel is to be favored right here at a price of 4/7 – although that price will likely shorten even further in odds by the evening.

Desert Crown beat second-placed Hoo Ya Mal, who placed at Goodwood before winning over 1m6f in August.

Third-placed Westover has arguably had better form in top-flight Group 1 races around the world – winning the Irish Derby by an astonishing seven lengths.

Before finishing fifth at Royal Ascot in what was a disappointing race by running too freely.

But quite impressed at Longchamp in the Arc on very soft ground behind Alpinista, which all those shapes suggest Desert Crown should rout.
