Adams Announces NYCHA Leadership Reshuffle After Jacob Riis Houses Arsenic Scare

NEW YORK — Mayor Eric Adams announced a NYCHA leadership reshuffle on Thursday, just days after tenants of the Jacob Riis homes feared there was arsenic in their water supply.

Greg Russ, who was hired by former mayor Bill de Blasio, is the CEO of the public housing authority.

Russ will be replaced by an interim CEO while a nationwide search for a new leader is conducted. He will remain with the agency for the time being, but is expected to announce his resignation shortly.

Arsenic fears have been blamed on poorly conducted testing by an environmental firm.
